3 EGGS 1/2 C SUGAR 2 C SLICED FRESH FIGS 3/4 C OIL 3 C FLOUR 2 TSP BAKING SODA 1 TSP SALT 1 TBSP CINNAMON 1 TSP MIXED SPICE 1/2 TSP GINGER 1/2 TSP NUTMEG 1/2 C BUTTERMILK 1 C CHOPPED WALNUTS BEAT EGGS,ADD SUGAR AND BEAT WELL. ADD FIGS AND OIL. SIFT FLOUR,SODA SALT AND SPICES. ADD FIG MIXTURE ALTERNATELY WITH BUTTERMILK. FOLD IN WALNUTS. BAKE 180 DEGREES CELSIUS FOR ONE HOUR IN GREASED AND FLOURED LOAF PAN. MAKES TWO LARGE LOAVES.
